Selangor MB 'apologises' to those who received water supply ahead of schedule
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Amirudin Shari expressed his
satisfaction with the works carried out by Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor
Sdn Bhd (Syabas) and the way it had pre-empted the public on the water
disruption.
"This is a commendable approach. We were honest in conveying to the public that there will be a disruption due to the upgrading works for the sake of improving the quality of services. Our explanation was well accepted by the people," he said.
In jest, Amirudin "apologised" to consumers as water supply in some areas were restored earlier than expected.
"There are users who were 'angered' that they received their water supply ahead of time. I apologise that happened earlier because even that has become an issue.
"Maybe they were joking as we had predicted the water supply to be reconnected only by today," he said when met after launching the Shah Alam City Council's (MBSA) bicycle tracks, Smart Bus Stop and the Selangor Intelligent Transport System Application at Plaza Perangsang in Section 14, here, today.
This morning, Syabas announced that water supply has been fully restored for all accounts following a scheduled disruption due to upgrading works at the Sungai Selangor Fasa 2 (LRA SSP2) treatment plant on Wednesday.
The works saw a total shutdown of LRA SSP2 with over 600,000 Syabas
accounts in 577 areas in Shah Alam, Klang, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling,
Gombak, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor affected.
